If You Feel Lonely When You’re Alone, You’re In Bad Company
Lately, I’ve felt a little lonely, even when there are people around me that anyone would want to be around. I feel lonely and I don’t really understand why. However, loneliness is greatest when I am in my own room and no one is drowning out my voice.
I know that means I may not be in the best company. I feel lonely when I’m alone, and it feels awful. I don’t want to listen to what I have to say. I also feel like the saddest person in the world. Moreover, the panic that strikes me when I find myself in all silence is so deep that I try to avoid it constantly. In panic, I feel unprotected and vulnerable.
Many people have experienced the same and you too may go through very similar moments. It’s normal and you have nothing to be ashamed of. It is easy to feel insurmountable in emptiness. And we all fear it in our lives.
Loneliness is not always bad
Often, when you notice a shadow of loneliness appearing, you avoid being wounded. You may also isolate yourself from your own melancholy. You are in a state where you can only feel pain. In a state where you forget with either a small or large hand who you really are.
The first and necessary step is to fight that horrible discomfort that prevents you from enjoying what you have. You have to face it and accept things as they are. Yes, you should always set a name or label for what you experience. This allows you to share it in a specific place and work with it properly when it feels more like an obstacle rather than a benefit.
Loneliness is not always bad. Convincing yourself is the next step. The point is that the defensiveness you experience is the simplest starting point from the hurricane that has now taken over your heart. This means that being alone can be the best opportunity: you can go for a walk, travel, meditate … It can be the boldest way to find and love yourself. You can’t expect others to support and take care of you if you can’t do the same for yourself.
In loneliness, you realize that you are not really alone
Loneliness can be the most coveted hug, and it is accessible to all. Loneliness can produce fear, but it can also cleanse, soothe, and comfort. The kind of loneliness that gives happiness that finds and welcomes you so that you can finally become the best company for yourself.
You are never alone if you do not allow it. People are born to interact with each other. That’s why we share our lives with people who are mentally close to us. But isn’t the person closest to you yourself? Why on earth would you like to reject it?
Even if you have your family, spouse, children, and even friends, you may still feel lonely. We live in a society that is constantly communicating more through technology. That means our loved ones spend more time at work and less in their relationships. However, that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t love us. That they wouldn’t be here for us.
In this case, your addiction works in conjunction with your loneliness and makes you feel that way. Maybe it’s good that you’re looking for freedom, space, hobbies… where you feel completely with yourself and don’t feel the need to share a moment with anyone else.
