Ignorance Feeds Ignorance

Ignorance feeds ignorance

In reality, everyone is ignorant. We are not just ignorant to the same degree, and we do not all recognize it on the same level. Ignorance means lack of knowledge or experience. It is this lack of knowledge that causes ignorant and suspicious nature of ignorance, even to the point where it becomes an enemy of people according to different experiences or consciousness.

Wise people, on the other hand, know that awareness of ignorance is a virtue, just as Socrates thought. This consciousness allows them to see reality as infinite, as something that binds them to their true nature. These people stay away from contradictions and are hardly anyone’s enemies or friends suffering from greed and excessive desires.

People who ignore the limitations of their consciousness are blind to their own views, making it impossible to communicate with others. Anything that does not fit their world of goodness creates contradictions that can be resolved by all means except concession.

Ignorant people think they know everything

Ignorance makes people assume that they know everything. Such an omniscient essence can be explained by the Dunning-Kruger effect, which is a form of erroneous self-knowledge. It refers to people who tend to overestimate their knowledge, whether it is the amount of knowledge or the assumption that their personal opinions are indisputable facts.

ignorance opens the door to new knowledge

Such false self-knowledge was discovered by Professors David Dunning and Justin Kruger at Cornell University in 1999. Both scholars began to analyze studies that suggested that ignorance gives people more self-confidence than knowledge. Researchers referred specifically to driving, chess, and sports.

Ignoring our own ignorance is the origin of many disagreements. People don’t get enemies for no reason. One reason may be when a person feels threatened or disputed, which is the product of his or her own almighty beliefs.

Awareness of your own ignorance gives you the gift of curiosity

One part of wisdom is to be aware of what you don’t know, which opens new doors and gives you the motivation to learn more. In this sense, modesty goes hand in hand with wisdom. We need to be less ashamed to acknowledge our ignorance so we can take advantage of the situation as a learning opportunity. This is something that children know how to do well. They are constantly asking what things are, what their purpose is and how they work.

reading a book

For example, most people do not understand how the human body works and know nothing about its complex biological and chemical processes, but we often condemn people who admit that they know nothing about it. In such cases, people become ignorant of their own ignorance. This happens especially when no one wants to look silly, as if it were the worst possible thing that could happen.

By recognizing our own ignorance, we give the golden key to consciousness and wisdom. It allows us to understand human plasticity. And so the next time someone finds you ignorant, don’t feel threatened. Instead, thank them for the reminder and encourage them to teach you more and invite them to learn with you.
