Is it bad to think too much?

Do you think too much?  Have you ever asked yourself this question?  If you nodded in favor of this, then you’re right, you’re really thinking too much. But don’t worry, so do I. In fact, almost all of us do so. In any case, the problem we are trying to solve today is this: Is it good to think too much?

Many times, thinking about something over and over again leads us to the depths of melancholy. It leads to obsessions, phobias, depression, and ultimately emotions and passions that can sometimes keep us from doing everything we want to do.  Imagine that this question of ours is a seed. This question could grow and become much bigger, sprouting more and more branches, thus creating an endless loop that only breaks when we stop thinking about it. This is exhausting for the mind and can even cause headaches and migraines.

In addition to exhausting us, there are other difficulties in thinking too much. Have you ever prevented yourself from doing something because you spent too much time thinking about it?  Have you ever wondered what you would have said to someone if you had had time to think about it? Trains run constantly, and as a result of too much reflection, you may be left at the station.

As we all know, trains will overtake us if we simply stay in the same station, but we can’t just keep repeating the same mistake indefinitely. If you have not done something due to the doubts that have taken over you and taken control of your mind, then it is very likely that you will do the same the first time you come. And the opportunities don’t have an agreed schedule, as the train stations have. We don’t know when the next opportunity will arrive.

There is an antidote to every poison. Voltaire said, “The collection of thoughts must be a pharmacy where there is a cure for all ailments. “As you know, antidotes are made from poison. Admittedly, if we don’t use the right dosage and go into excesses, then we won’t get better. In fact, the opposite is true.

If we want to avoid this, we can. For example, we can start doing other things to move away from the thought that torments us:  exercise, listen to music, go to the movies…

Lastly, we offer an absolutely awesome technique: meditation. Meditation, unlike the way the Western world tends to think, doesn’t just mean sitting down and thinking about thinking when we get there. Rather, the opposite of power, meditation is like thinking nothing, emptying your mind and turning it into a blank sheet of paper.  Let your thoughts guide you, but don’t let them control you.

We are the owners of our own lives, and we should make the best use of our lives.
