Self-awareness Is The Key To Happiness

Self-awareness is the key to happiness

Happiness. Where does it really come from? Is it something that can be found by chance or because destiny is so planned? Does happiness only happen in your bank account? The truth is that this is not the case. One who has a lot of stuff or who happens to win the lottery is not the happiest person.

Happiness, like other best things in life, lies in the smallest and most common things. It is also important to understand that to be happy you must first know what you need, what defines you, and how you understand the world around you.

Some people walk from day to day without a goal and their hearts are empty. They would like to be the owners of the whole world, but in fact they have not even begun to notice what is happening right in front of them. Self-awareness is the key to happiness, the regulation of our inner experiences, and the humility and honesty of who we are and what we need.

Are you self-conscious? Let’s look at some of the qualities associated with self-awareness , for self-awareness is one of the pillars of spiritual wisdom.

Self-awareness: an example

Here is an example to help you understand this idea more easily. A young man has succeeded in getting a good job thanks to his efforts and opportunities. However, he is not happy. He buys a car, but he still feels empty and restless. This feeling is also not enhanced by his interpersonal relationship or other faded matter.

Gradually, he begins to take over his life. He examines himself and digs inside to find answers. Maybe he’s lived his life too busy, trying to show others what he’s capable of. He knows that so far he has only tried to keep other people happy. He has tried to please his family and keep a good image of himself in the eyes of his friends, but he never came to ask himself what he himself would need. He lived “outward” and not “inward”.

Self-awareness: definition

Self-conscious people know how to control their inner experiences. They are aware of their states of mind and act on them.

Sometimes we find ourselves dissatisfied, but still try to force ourselves to continue on the familiar path because other people expect it of us or because we are simply too scared to step out of our “comfort zone”. But as we do so, we turn our backs on our inner voice crying for help.

Happiness is one of the pillars of spiritual wisdom. It is really important for it to be aware of itself and its own feelings, and in this way a person is also able to act in harmony with the people around him. We must understand ourselves and, on the other hand, also understand and respect others. However, this does not mean that we do not have the right to defend our own needs. We must act according to our feelings and values.

To be happy you don’t have to hug things or information. The happiest people are not those who know and own the most, but rather those who have embraced understanding and humility and who feel well. If you don’t know your own limits, you will always cross them. If you don’t know what you want, you will always look for something. If you don’t know how to appreciate what you have and what you are, you will always be frustrated. Is it worth it? No way.

Everyone should practice self-awareness on a daily basis so that we learn to function better in this complex world where new challenges and trials appear before us every day.

Sometimes wisdom is that we understand ourselves well and that we know how to behave in harmony with our emotions. In that case, we are more complete and simpler. Not only are we happier,  we bring happiness to other people’s lives as well. Try this today.
