Who would not at some point in their lives be trapped in the bitterness and charm of impossible love ? The first thing that comes to mind about impossible love is certainly teenage love. Many students have experienced an attraction to their teacher, or put their hopes in some other platonic love that was content with a gorgeous appearance or smile, and that eventually led to ever-increasing dreams. However, it is clear that it did not lead to anything in the end. And yet the mere opportunity to dream of love brought about a strange pleasure.

Of course, impossible love can also be directed at a pop star, an actor, or another famous person. We talk about the feelings we can experience, for example, towards people spinning on screens, even if our object of love has no idea of ​​our existence. We know them close to us, when in reality they are light years away. Nevertheless, many teenagers and even young adults experience this at some point in their lives.

However, true impossible loves are those that begin with a spark, ignite in their flames, but unfortunately become killed by evil happiness and insurmountable obstacles. They are emotions that seem to be strongly alive and that, one way or another, never die.

Different types of impossible love

Experts say that there are basically three different types of impossible love. One is “love of the ghost”, the other is “narcissistic love” and the third is “difficult love”. The first refers to cases where you love someone who doesn’t exist (the way you would see him and he see you). You have to love something and you give that person qualities and virtues that they don’t really have. It’s as if someone is constantly representing a way to fill your childhood gaps.

On the other hand, there are also impossible narcissistic loves. Their impossibility lies in the fact that they are never attainable. You spend your whole life looking for the perfect partner because you feel you deserve one, but you will never find him. It is an empty love, a desire for your own high ego. When you love this way, the only thing you experience is loneliness. You will never find anyone who would make your fantasy come true.

Finally, love is often impossible because of difficulties and obstacles. These are loves that are hard to come by. There are special circumstances that make love very complex. The other person may already be in a relationship. Or maybe the other one simply can’t love you. In other cases, there may also be strong religious and ideological objections that prevent the relationship.

In the last group, we mention relationships in which one of the partners dies. The partner is gone, but the love that unites you does not die. It takes a lot of time until you get out of that contradictory situation where you love someone who no longer exists. However, if other emotional problems do not fit in, such cases will most often ease over time.

The charm of impossible love

These impossible loves lead us to study all the poetry we carry within us. The most pragmatic may never have experienced it, but they have missed not only experiences that are at the same time as hellish as wonderful. All love needs some kind of impossibility to keep the flame burning. And when the impossibility is already experienced, the soul returns, but at the same time our creativity and impulses live and die at the same time.

The impossibility of love feels tragic. At least when we fight for the realization of love. Impossible love fills us with anxiety and we find ourselves in a situation where we cannot leave a person, but at the same time we cannot get him either. Our feelings can be full of suffering and joy, bliss and resentment at the same time.

Nevertheless, impossible love has its unique attraction. It puts you to the test, it challenges the deepest part of your inner self. And one thing is for sure: you will never forget him. You will never remember him indifferently. Impossible love fades over time, but never ceases to be the spark that once made your heart beat.

Only rarely can impossible love develop into a burden. This happens when you are unable to give up fantasy and grab it blindly; when you cannot accept that impossible love has no purpose. This can cause pain and at worst even get you sick. But, if you really want to learn to love, impossible love can be your greatest teachers.
